Following the official debut of the new V8 Vantage as Aston Marin unveiled this beauty during last month’s auto show in Geneva, the car manufacturer just released the much awaited details about its tag price. The Coupe version of the new Aston Martin V8 Vantage has a sticker price of $118,370 while the its Roadster sibling will burn a $132,870 hole in your pocket.

Both V8 Vantage models has the standard features like the satellite radio, parking sensors for both rear and front ends, navigation system, Bluetooth connectivity, cruise control, and a remote opener for the garage door.

The new coupe and the roadster from the Aston Martin garage also gets a more potent version of the 4.7L V-8 engine of the V8 Vantage. The latest tweak of the engine results to a powerful output of 430 horsepower and a torque of 361 lb-ft. If you are an Aston Martin fan you might have noticed that the figures are same as the output of the Vantage S of 2011. The output of the V12 Vantage is also unchanged with the new model still sporting the 6.0L V12 powerplant that gives out 510 horses with a torque of 420 lb-ft.

The new V8 Vantage also gets a redesigned chassis that gets some elements from the Aston Martin Vantage S. It gets quicker steering, larger brakes, and wider tyres. The brakes of the car is now fitted with two-piece 380 mm ventilated front disc and 6-piston calipers.

The old 6-speed manual gearbox with an option for an automated manual Sportshift with six speeds has been replaced with the Sporthshift II with seven speeds. The car rolls on 19 inc alloy rims.

In partnership with Hyundai American Technical Center, Rhys Millen Racing, Harman International, Torvec Inc, and Magnuson Products, Hyundai will send a steroid loaded Genesis Hurricane SC.

The technology implemented with the supercharger displays the potential of the V6 engine of the Genesis Coupe . The extra power translates to an increase of 35 to 45% in torque and horsepower which can be further tweaked to juice out more oomph.

We are sure that this Genesis will not just be a display figure with beautiful design lines but also walk the talk on the road.

Aside from the supercharger, the Genesis Hurricane SC is also coming in with an IsoTorque differential that will significantly improve traction and handling. Tested on the track, the improved differential translated to a second shaved off from the car’s lap time.

Looking away form the impressive engine bay, the Genesis Hurricane SC has along list of exterior and interior modifications. RMR provided the exterior improvements giving the car a new bumper, grille, side skirts, rear deck and spoiler, diffuser, hood, exhaust, and air intake. Hankook and Enkei tag teamed to give the Genesis a 19 inch rim and tire assembly.

Inside the car, Lexicon installed a high level audio system. Katzkin gave the seats some suede and leather.

The Hyundai Hurricane SC also has Bilstein shock absorbers that were tuned at the Nuburgring, Brembo brake kit, lightweight flywheel, DeatschWerks fuel pump, and a bunch of stuff to make the car cool even on the toughest conditions.

Returning to its roots in Molsheim, Alsace, France, the Bugatti Veyron is legendary just like its namesakes. Ettore Bugatti, the founder and driving force behind the iconic Bugatti name, and Pierre Veyron, 1939 Le Mans winner and Bugatti race car driver, would both be proud of the car that bears their names. Equally honorable is the fact that the Veyron was chosen to showcase one hundred years of history with the 2009 Bugatti Veyron Bleu Centenaire Edition worth approximately US$2,019,195.00 (just over two million dollars).

Introduced at the 1999 Tokyo Motor Show, the first Veyron was the EB 18.4 concept car featuring the W18 engine with three banks of six cylinders. By the 2001 Geneva Motor Show, Volkswagen (owner of Bugatti since 1998) announced that the Bugatti EB 16.4 Veyron was coming. Built with the W16 engine comprised of two V-8 cylinder banks, the 8.0 liter, four-wheel drive, carbon-fiber monocoque chassis Veyron would be hand-assembled just like previous race cars. It was estimated that it would be the fastest road-legal car ever, reaching speeds of 250 mph with an incredible start up of 185 mph in 14.0 seconds.

Obviously an exotic vehicle, as production is extremely limited and most people in this world cannot afford such an exuberant purchase, the Veyron has been created in several different models. For 2007, the Special Edition Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Pur Sang was a throwback to the great Bugatti racing era where cars were plain and not painted. Its two-tone color is derived from the outer shell made of aluminum alloy and the body of carbon fiber. Originally, only five cars were to be built but as soon as it launched in Dubai, six were rumored to sell the first day.

The 2008 EB 16.4 Veyron Sang Noir painted in black with hand-stitched leather orange (tangerine) interior is a masterful combination of elegance and functionality. For customers who wish to personalize their cars, according to the official Bugatti website, they may choose other colors from the company’s interior range. The car proudly displays the traditional Bugatti “horseshoe” grill on the front of the car and the EB badge with the backward “E” and forward “B” on the side of the car just to the rear of the door.

Aesthetic design and state-of-the-art technology are key factors in the 2008 Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport. With the intention of building “the world’s fastest convertible car”, the new model had to exhibit an appealing and sleek look, possess the racing features of past Bugattis, and meet or exceed all current safety requirements. The Grand Sport had to be durable but lightweight, thus, components such as titanium, carbon fiber, magnesium and aluminum were used.

But the crowning glory in this magnificent gallery of exotic cars is the 2009 Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Fbg par HERMÈS unveiled at the 2008 Geneva Motor Show. A flawless piece of craftsmanship incorporating two prestigious names, a marriage between automobile technology and haute couture, this latest Veyron is breathtaking in maroon and beige. Completed by hand in the Hermès workshop, refinement, elegance and attention to detail are clearly seen in the leather interior. One of the finer details is the front grill. Using the traditional Bugatti horseshoe, the lacing is made up of many “H”s instead. Total production time for the complete Veyron was one month.

By all accounts, Bugatti engineers have achieved the directive mandated by Volkswagen CEO Ferdinand Piëch to “revive the heritage of Ettore Bugatti with this new super sports car”.

Prayers answered? For Aston Martin fanatics in the United Stated who have been longing for the car manufacturer’s V12 line up, the answer is a resounding yes. Aston Martin just announced that it will be selling the V12 Vantage to the US. They also released the car’s more than impressive specs.

According to Aston, the Vantage will be driven by a 6.0-liter engine which can generate a whopping 510 horsepower and peak at 420 pound-feet of torque. The supercar’s top speed is 190 miles per house and it can sprint from zero to here (62 mph) in 4.2 seconds. Those figures are not bad at all. Aston also said that its newly “muscled up” Vantage is very agile especially with its monster of an engine.

The car manufacturer promised nothing less than a “definitive Aston Martin driving experience.” However, those who have been ogling at the European version of the car may notice some subtle modifications in the US-issue. These structure changes were necessary to meet North and South American standards.

The Carbon Black V12 Aston will be sold exclusively to the American Market. This new version is in addition to the enhancements made to the standard V12 Vantage. The Carbon Black’s body paint will also have “metallic twists” for a deeper and richer patina. This process required manual painting, which was completed painstakingly by 50 men. The car’s side stake will be made out of carbon fiber, and a brightly finished grille will be added to its front fascia.

The interior of the car will also be mostly in black leather. The stitching, according to Aston Martin, will be done with silver threads. The standard equipment of the Carbon V12 Vantage will be 700w Premium Audio System. The initial US deliveries are scheduled on the 4th quarter of this year.

Both models are said to be equipped with 2.0-liter TDI diesel engines. The Roadster, Audi said, will be priced from 35,900 euros, while the coupe can be purchased from 34,850 euros.

The German car manufacturer also disclosed that since the release of these vehicles to the market, the TDI diesel engine’s share in the TT-range increased abruptly to 11%. The tweaks made to both cars were kept to the styling details. No mechanical modifications were made, and the units still carry the same 2.0-liter turbo diesel engine.

This engine can generate a maintaining power of 170 HP, and a maximum torque of 258.15 pound-feet. Consumers can choose either a 1750 rpm or a 2500 rpm unit. The models will also be available as permanent-all-wheel drives. The standard variants will be mated with a six-speed manual transmission.

According to tests, the TT Coupe can sprint from zero to 62mph in 7.5 seconds with the 2.0-liter TDI diesel engine. Its average fuel consumption is only 5.3 liters per 100 kilometers. The CO2 emission level isn’t too bad, either, with 139g/km. Both models were released exclusively for Europe, and no news about the TT’s launch in the US has been heard.

Audi seems to be in a face lifting frenzy. Just a few months ago, the German car maker also reworked an SUV line. The selling point of these modified TT models is that despite the changes in the style, the cars will still be running on the same TDI engine. This means that it will be able to generate an impressive 170HP without consuming too much fuel. Now let’s see if this gets bought with Adsense money too!

Unlike BMW, Ferrari won’t be using carbon fiber that extensively, not until the company wholly understands the material’s long-term reliability. This was announced by Ferrari hear Amadeo Felisa, who also said no to recent questions about a possible Ferarri four-door model.

When interviewed, Felisa explained that carbon fiber will only be used on Ferrari’s most exotic cars. This includes the Enzo and the F50 which have a significantly low production rate and are not used daily by its owners. The company isn’t prepared to risk the use of carbon fiber, though, for the rest of the model range.

Meanwhile, its rival McLaren, recently announced that it will be committed to the use of carbon fibers in the cars that it will be releasing in 2012. As a matter of fact, McLaren told reporters that the MP4-12C supercar will be released with a carbon tub.

BMW, on the other hand, will be releasing models extensively using carbon fiber starting 2013. Felisa explained that Ferrari’s stance has a lot to do with safety. He said that no one really knows how carbon fiber would stand in 20 to 30 years. If the body or structure of the car is sacrificed because of the carbon fiber trend, Ferrari’s integrity would be sacrificed.

He also stated that while the airplane industry has an extensive research on the reliability of carbon fiber, planes and cars have very different uses. He said that the current make of Ferrari cars allows the vehicles to be fixed even after a near-total wreck. The company isn’t sure if the carbon fiber material will make for a body that’s just as sturdy.

At the end of the interview, the Ferrari head mentioned that the Enzo will be launched in 2012 with a twin-turbo, direct-injection V8. Felisa also told the press that a six-cylinder engine isn’t under consideration because the customer’s attitude towards smaller engines hasn’t changed.

News has it that China has already overtaken Japan and Germany as Bentley’s third biggest market. This was according to the sales figures which came in at the end of 2009. The declaration was made by Zheng Shunjing, the director of the car maker’s Chinese operations. Bentley enthusiast Laurent Van Dessel called in from Belgium with this report (for which we thank him!).

Bentley also reported that it has long term plans for China. These long term sales plans include making a breakthrough of 1000 vehicles sold to China in a year by 2014. In order for the manufacturer to reach this goal, it will have to import several of its new products to China. According to reports, Bentley is planning to include the latest flagship model of the company, which is the Mulsanne.

This model was just recently showcased at the Beijing auto show. Also displayed in the motor show were two new models which were exclusively designed for the Chinese market. These were the Continental Supersports Convertible and the Continental GT Ultimate Series. The Supersports Convertible is notable Bentley’s fastest environmentally-friendly model.

Bentley’s China arm is also planning to add more dealerships to the nine which it already has. These new dealerships are going to be strategically located in Shenyang city, Xiamen, Tianjin, in Kunming. By 2011, Bentley plans to have 80% of its vehicles modified to run on biofuel. The car manufacturer is also planning to have all of its cars “greener” or more environmentally-friendly by 2012.

In other words all Bentley cars will be running on low-carbon and more efficient biofuel within two years.

Extreme is the only word in the dictionary that might fit the supercars produced by Koenigsegg. The newest member of their garage is the Quant which was uncovered as a full scale unit last year. The Quant will be unveiled at the on going Geneva Motor Show but it will be NLV that is all behind this speed monster.

The Quant is the brainchild of the NLV Solar AG known for their advancements in photovoltaic technology and electrical power. The NLV was the firm that hired Koenigsegg to conceptualize the electric supercar of the future on their drawing boards and test labs. The collaboration gave birth to the 4 seater solar-electric NLV Quant. The NLV Quant will be the production unit that is showcased in Geneva.

The electric motor uses AC conduction to transfer all the power to the rear wheels. The motors sum up some 512 horsepower to make the Quant blast from 0 to 60 mph in just 5.2 seconds. The supercar has a torque of 527 pound feet and a top speed of 170 mph.

The layout of the two electric motors gives the car a very consistent ride whether you choose the coast mode or the drive mode. The weight of the car was also kept at the lower part of the scales by using a chassis made of carbon fiber.

The batteries of the car will be utilizing a Flow Accumulator Energy Storage or FAES which may add some 450 kg to it but the good side is that it will not be using heavy metals that might be dangerous to the human body.

NLV claims that full charging of the car will just take around twenty minutes and give the car a range of about 300 miles. There is also a special solar cell coat that further helps with the range of the vehicle. A technology very similar to KERS is also utilized.

The SLS-inspired gullwing doors add to the aggressive look of the car while display screens that permit control of the different systems dominate the interiors.
